Noida: Woman alleges sexual harassment by HR executive at workplace

The woman requested the police to investigate the matter at the earliest and claimed to be in possession of recordings and obscene pictures sent by the accused. She told the police that the accused was sexually harassing her in several instances.

A 26-year-old woman was allegedly molested and harassed by a human resources executive of her company in Sector 63. The police have registered a case but have not made any arrest so far.

The incident was reported on Thursday by the victim, a resident of Khora in Ghaziabad, to the Phase-3 police.

She alleged that she has stopped going to work due to continuous harassment and lewd comments made by the executive.

The police said the according to the complainant, the accused calls her late night and sends inappropriate messages. When she had previously objected to his behaviour, the accused allegedly threatened to sack her.

The woman claimed that she had taken up the matter with senior officials of the company also, but no action was taken.

The woman requested the police to investigate the matter at the earliest and claimed to be in possession of recordings and obscene pictures sent by the accused. She told the police that the accused was sexually harassing her in several instances.

“In our office, there is no dress code, but he would approach me and tell me to wear dresses of his choice. I was repeatedly asked to join him in parties outside the office and when I last refused, he said that I won’t excel in life,” the woman alleged.

The Phase-3 police have registered a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).

“We have started investigating the matter and the accused will be questioned. The office is shut on the weekends, so we will visit the company on Monday to investigate the matter,” said Umed Yadav, station house officer of Phase-3 police station.
