Fifth seeded Ritwik Bhattacharya of India crashed out in the opening round of the Talisman Energy Bankers Hall Club Squash Open in Calgary.

Christopher Gordon of the US defeated Bhattacharya 11-7, 10-11 (4-6), 3-11, 11-8, 11-1 in 85 minutes in the $15,000 Professional Squash Tour event at Bankers Hall Club.

Later, Gordon lost to qualifier Majid Khan of Pakistan 7-11, 7-11, 9-11 in 41 minutes in quarter-finals.

In semi-finals, Khan will meet eighth seed Jorge Isaac Baltazar Ferreira of Mexico while top seed Shahier Razik of Canada will clash with qualifier Arturo Salazar of Mexico.
