Gaganjeet Bhullar commenced Day II of the Austrian Golf Open in a manner as if he could do no wrong. Teeing off from the 10th, the 23-year-old went on the overdrive and recorded six birdies on his front nine.

There were no signs of slowing down after making the turn as he birdied the 1st too. Sitting pretty with a three-stroke lead, Bhullar seemed well on his way to bettering the course record at the Diamond Country Club, before disaster struck.

A bogey and a triple on the 3rd and 4th negated the advantage and though he picked up a shot on the 6th, Bhullar (69, 68) had to be content with a share of the lead in a four-way tie.
