In the hit 90s sitcom Seinfeld, a catchphrase associated with the third gender went, 'not that there's anything wrong with that'. Well, when it comes to ridiculing cricket, however, there are no such considerations.

Jason Alexander created quite a storm when he called cricket a sport for gays. "It's the pitch. It's the weirdest ... It's not like a manly baseball pitch. It's a queer, British gay pitch," he said.

When the dissenting voices grew louder he apologised to the gay community. And the cricket community? Perhaps Alexander discounted the tights that baseball pitchers wear.
