Indian ladies golf goes global

After the men, it is the turn of women's golf in India to get a foreign flavour. The Indian Ladies Masters, Ladies European Tour (LET)'s fully sanctioned event will be held in December.
The 200,000-euro tournament, promoted by 'Golf in Dubai' will be held from December 5 to 8. "The Ladies European Tour is delighted to be visiting India for the first time in history," said Alexandra Armas, the LET's Executive Director while inaugurating the event in Dubai. The event will be the 26th event on the LET.
Champika Sayal, the secretary general of the Women's Golfers Association of India (WGAI) said, "This fully sanctioned leg of the Ladies European Tour will attract only the best lady golfers of the world."
She added, "We are pushing for 12 spots for Indians. The top six money earners from WGAI will be there and then there'll be some from amateur circuit. Also, we will get three places in the Dubai event that'll be held a week after the Indian event."
