Prakash wins bronze in 10m air pistol

Prakash Nanjappa won bronze in the men’s 10m air pistol event in the ISSF World Cup at Changwon, South Korea, on Saturday. The Karnataka shooter shot 180.2 points to edge past Tomoyuki Matsuda of Japan, who eventually finished fourth with 158.7 points.

Prakash, 37, had given a good account of himself in the national shooting meet, by winning a bronze, in the capital. This is the first time he has excelled in an ISSF competition.

The eventual winner, Xuan Vinh Hoang of Vietnam, scored 200.8 points while the silver went to China's Wang Zhiwei, the 2012 Olympic bronze medallist, who shot 2001.
