Saina advances in Korea Open

Saina Nehwal entered the second round of the first Super Series of the year, the Victor Korea Open, on Wednesday, where she was hardly tested by Scotland’s Susan Egglstaff and won 21-5, 21-6 at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium. HT reports.

Saina Nehwal entered the second round of the first Super Series of the year, the Victor Korea Open, on Wednesday, where she was hardly tested by Scotland’s Susan Egglstaff and won 21-5, 21-6 at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium.

The women's doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa also surged ahead with a thrilling 21-19, 21-18 victory over Vivian Kah Mun Hoo and Khe Wei Woon of Malaysia.

Jwala also made it to the second round in mixed doubles with V Diju, as they got the better of another Malaysian pair --- Peng Soon Chan and Liu Ying Goh.
