Announcing the tie-up, Pawan Munjal, managing director and CEO, Hero Honda Motors Ltd, said, “We had supported Jeev (Milkha Singh) soon after he turned pro and was trying to get on to the Asian and European Tours. By signing on the three promising golfers, we are ensuring that they don’t have to bother about things outside golf and are free to concentrate on their game.”

Speaking on behalf of the trio, Shiv, a regular on the European Tour, said, “It is a momentous day in our lives. Golf is considered an individual sport but it’s for the first time that they (Hero Honda) have put together a team.

“It is a huge motivation and gives us the necessary encouragement to aim for more successes.”
