Anjali Bhagwat and Major RVS Rathore brought the 'golden' smile back to the Indian shooting camp. Anjali , the ace rifle shooter came up with a superb show, despite ill health, to complete the daunting task of overcoming Kazakhstan's Olga Dovogun, who only a couple of day back recorded a perfect 600 in 50m sports rifle prone.

Rathore, who recently won a medal at the World Championship in Nicosia, shot 130+43 for the double trap gold.

Conditions were not easy but I am happy I won gold, “ said Rathore..

Trailing all through the contest in the 50m three-position event at the Hyderabad University Ranges, Anjali, who has secured a quota place for the Athens Olympics, came up with a final shot of 9.9 to the Kazakh shooter's 7.9 to win by 0.2 points.

"I didn't expect gold in three-position because it is not my favourite event. I was also conscious of the fact that Olga was there”.
