Announcing this in Patna, BSEB spokesperson Hare Ram Pandey said NTPC and NHPC have already assured BSEB to make special efforts to ensure maximum power supply to Bihar during Durga Puja.

All the divisional control rooms and 10 temporary control rooms have ben asked to be in readiness for 24 hours, specially between October 22 and 24, he added.

Power consumption goes up during Pujas with loudspeakers blaring in all puja pandals and due to the lighting extravaganza.

Pande said, the BSEB has directed senior officers to monitor power supply position closely and attend to breakdown complaints promptly to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

“Special arrangements have been made to replace damaged or defective transformers on a priority basis during Puja," he added.
