Photos: Indonesia’s art lovers practise social distancing inside galleries amid soaring Covid-19 cases

Art lovers in di Depok viewed the work of famed Indonesian visual artist, Hanafi, at Kertas Studio, West Java near Jakarta in Indonesia. The exhibit featured artworks inspired by Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh, possibly in remembrance of his death anniversary, which is on 29 July. Since early June, Jakarta and West Java have been lifting restrictions. Restaurants and shopping malls have been reopened, however these are subject to a strict capacity limit. Schools remain closed. Lockdown were eased in hopes of reviving the economy, however this has resulted in an increase of coronavirus cases. The world's fourth most populous nation has now reported more than 70,000 coronavirus infections. Indonesia's national COVID-19 Task Force spokesman Achmad Yurianto attributed the increasing new cases to people not wearing masks as Indonesia eased lockdowns to help revive the economy.
