Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian nation on the occasion of the 2018 Independence Day, from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort in New Delhi. Close to 10,000 personnel have been deployed at the Red Fort, where senior ministers, top bureaucrats, foreign dignitaries and common people were present during the Prime Minister’s speech. In his address to the nation the PM counted the strides his government and the nation by effect has undertaken, along with announcing the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan – pegged as the world’s largest public healthcare programme.
