Fluid retention: This could happen due to a variety of reasons. When you do not drink enough water, tissues start pulling water from the muscles which can cause water retention. Constipation or acidity can result in bloating. When there is disturbance in the sleep pattern and you do not sleep for 7-8 hours, you end up waking with puffiness all around and all of these things can lead to weight gain.
