1. Eat a well-balanced diet - Eating healthy foods is imperative for pregnant women. Your baby needs all the vital nutrients for growth and development. Eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, calcium-rich foods, and foods low in saturated fat. Take your prenatal vitamins (folic acid, iron, and calcium) and supplements only after consulting the doctor. Limit your consumption of junk, fatty, oily, and processed foods. Drink enough water and avoid smoking or alcohol. (Unsplash)

3. Go for regular prenatal check-ups - Those who don’t get regular prenatal care can have a baby with low birth weight or other complications. Also, don't miss your follow-ups. Sleep well and stay stress-free to have a smooth pregnancy. Schedule your flu shot as per the doctor's advice. The flu can make a pregnant woman fall sick and raise the chances of complications for the baby. Taking the flu shot can protect the mother and baby from a serious illness. (Shutterstock)
