Paris Fashion Week: Extreme fashion on the runway

Paris Fashion Week has just gotten underway but we've already seen some dramatic beauty looks on the runway. Here are some of the most striking conceptual presentations. Jacquemus: The two-faced models at Jacquemus sported an eye-catching Picasso-esque look which saw double facial features drawn on with eyeliner. Will it catch on? It remains to be seen, but we may well see exaggerated surrealist makeup touches filtering down from the catwalk to the streets. (Photos: AFP)

Anrealage: Cult Japanese label Anrealage took things to the limit in its conceptual show, with models made up in black paint to match the monochrome collection and wearing helmets in the same hue.

Manish Arora: Manish Arora's warrior princess-themed show featured striking facial jewelry and war-paint inspired stripes. Boldly highlighted cheekbones and a gold lip kept things dramatic.

Rick Owens: One of the most conceptual designers on the scene, Rick Owens, didn't disappoint with models sporting full faces of gold and silver leaf makeup to match the collection's sphinx theme. The addition of 3D foil shapes gave the look depth and texture.
