Photos: India's daily Covid-19 caseload below 3 lakh after 26 days
On May 16, India reported 2,81,386 fresh infections of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19). India's daily spike of coronavirus cases remained below the 3 lakh mark for the first time in nearly 26 days. On April 22, the country achieved a grim milestone in its fight against the raging coronavirus as it reported over 3 lakh new cases in a 24-hour period for the first time since the pandemic began last year. According to the Union Health Ministry, the national recovery rate improved to 84.25% while the mortality rate stood at 1.09%.
