Made-in-China C919 jet makes successful take off in maiden flight
The C919, China's first domestically designed and built large airliner, took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 2:01 p.m. local time with a five-person crew aboard. It has more than 150 seats and a range of 4,075 kilometers (2,532 miles), and is meant to compete with the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.
