Photos: Hong Kong tightens Covid-19 measures after record surge

Hong Kong reported more than 100 new infections on July 19, its highest daily case surge since the pandemic hit in January. Local administration were quick to roll out a slew of measures including making masks compulsory in indoor public areas beyond public transportation. Social-distancing measures including restaurant restrictions and gym closures were also extended for a week. Civil servants in the former British colony began working from home starting July 20, and the government will only be offering necessary and emergency services.
