MLA from the area Madhuri Misal and local corporator Priya Gadade were present at the site.
“The concerned authorities need to carry out regular checks on these sites. When the company signs the contract, the security of workers is its responsibility, not the labour contractor’s,” Misal said.
“We will go ahead with investigation prescribed by the law. We have to check if the builder had taken all the necessary precautions,” Gadade said.
Ganga Prakash Dandeme, an employee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)’s construction department, who was also present on the spot, claimed that the builder has a permit to construct 12 floors.
