68-year-old citizen dies after being abandoned by auto driver
According to Dattawadi police, Vatsala Doiphode, hailing from Neral, was travelling in an autorickshaw near Mitra Mandal chowk when its driver and a two-wheeler rider started arguing over a minor accident on Friday.
A 68-year-old woman died at Mitra Mandal chowk on Friday after the driver of an autorickshaw she was travelling in abandoned her on the road after she fell unconscious.

According to Dattawadi police, Vatsala Doiphode, hailing from Neral, was travelling in an autorickshaw near Mitra Mandal chowk when its driver and a two-wheeler rider started arguing over a minor accident on Friday. After feeling dizzy, while trying to get out of the autorickshaw, she collapsed on the road. Following this, the driver of the autorickshaw and the rider abandoned her and fled the scene. Though she was rushed to the hospital by passers-by, she died during treatment.
PSI Vikas Jadhav of Dattawadi police station registered a case against the unknown auto rickshaw driver and the two-wheeler rider. According to police, Vatsala's relatives live in Mukundnagar area and she had come to the city to attend a programme.
