Author Rajan Khan’s Akshar Manav office attacked in Pune
Unidentified youths allegedly belonging to Awami Vikas Party blackened the name board of Akshar Manav, the publication office run by noted Marathi author Rajan Khan, on Monday.
According to Khan, the youths, around four in number, reached the office and blackened the board of Akshar Manav, before storming into the office and blackening the pamphlets, which they carried with them, of the new film ‘Halal’ based on his novel of the same name. They later threw the pamphlets in the office and left.
Speaking to HT, Khan, who was away on tour, said, “The novel was published in 1985 and I guess people are now paying attention to the story when it is being made into a film.”
The said film, directed by national award-winning director Shivaji Lotan Patil, is set to be released on October 6, 2017. The film depicts the trials and tribulations that women in our society have gone through. ‘Halal’ was screened at the Pune International Film Festival in 2016.
