Hearing the bail application of DS Kulkarni and his wife Hemanti the court observed, “the state government must refrain from bureaucratic paper work. Don’t you feel ashamed as a state government and as an investigation agency,” it told the government and the police.
The court further observed, “Doesn’t the state government have some responsibility when it comes to investigation. You have never said once that you need DSK’s police custody before the court. You say that DSK is cheating and misleading investors and that this is habit but isn’t it your responsibility to take this forward,” the court said, and asked DSK and wife Hemanti to remain present before it on February 13.
The court told DSK, “Don’t come with empty hands. Borrow. Beg. Do whatever you can but refund investor’s money.” The court also asked the investigative authority as to what action can be taken against DSK under the Maharashtra Protection Of Interest Of Depositors (MPID) Act.
