The defence and prosecution completed their arguments before the court of special judge DG Murumkar in case of the regular bail application filed by accused Kedar Vanjpe, Sai Vanjpe and Dhananjay Pachpor, officials of DSK Group, in the Rs 2,091 crore DSK fraud case. The judge has kept the next date of hearing on August 21 at 11 am.

Advocate Harshad Nimbalkar who appeared before the court for Pachpor said that one Gauri Patil who is a witness in the case cannot depose before the court against Pachpor. Harshad Nimbalkar said that there is prima facie fraud in the Phursungi land issue and that his client is not involved. Pachpor has not been a part of the management and he is in no way involved in the fraud in which he has been booked, Nimbalkar added.

Pravin Chavan, special public prosecutor, strongly demanded that the bail application of the accused be rejected and the court exercise its discretionary powers in favour of the prosecution, considering the seriousness of offences and its impact on the ordinary people. Most of the witnesses are employees of the people and economic offences are more serious than murders and their impact on the lives of the investors must be taken into account by the court, Chavan said in his submission before the court.
