ITIs in Pune to conclude online application for admission on June 20
The procedure began on June 1, which was two weeks ahead of the previous year’s schedule and even before the declaration of Class 10 secondary school certificate (SSC) exam results.
The online application for the admission process for vocational courses at the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Maharashtra will conclude on June 20, informed the directorate of vocational education and training (DVET), on Monday.

The procedure began on June 1, which was two weeks ahead of the previous year’s schedule and even before the declaration of Class 10 secondary school certificate (SSC) exam results.
In 2017, the process begun on June 14, following the declaration of SSC results. The process which was advanced this year, was to allow students more time to decide preferences and understand all the nuances of the admission process, according to sources.
As per the timetable declared by DVET, all the students aspiring to join the courses can apply online on the official website, www.admission.dvet.gov.in. They are then required to go to the nearest admission reporting centre (ARC) and confirm their application in addition to marking their preferences for institutions and vocational courses.
Students can chose from across 79 trades this year at 417 government and 454 private ITIs in the state. A total of 1,33,084 seats are up for grabs, across trades, like, plastic processing operator, machinist, instrument mechanic, electrician, electronics mechanics, electro-plater, electrician (power dist), mechanic motor vehicle or diesel vehicle, computer operator and programming assistant (Copa) and others.
In 2017, the enrolments for vocational courses at ITIs in Maharashtra witnessed a slight rise by 7 per cent, with almost 1.17 lakh students being admitted to ITIs as opposed to 1.08 lakh students in 2015-16 and 1.06 lakh in 2014-15.
