KPIT junior champion series tennis: Shah scores easy win to enter round 3
Jash Shah defeated Vedang Kale 6-3 to enter the third round of the under-12 category
Jash Shah defeated Vedang Kale 6-3 to enter the third round of the under-12 category in PMDTA-KPIT junior champion series tennis tournament at the Center of Police Research ground, Pashan on Monday.
In the all Pune battle, top-seeded, Shah hardly faced any difficulty as he easily overcame Kale.
In the second match of the day, Tej Oak secured an easy 6-1 win over Atharva Joshi to enter round three.
Most of the matches were one-sided as Neev Kothari got better of Shriram Joshi with a 6-0 victory. 13th seeded Parth Kale also advanced into the third round with the 6-1 win over Vedang Banni.
Shardul Khawale, Raghav Sarode and Amogh Damle also entered round three with scoring win over Krishank Joshi, Kapil Gadhiyar and Amey Nerkar respectively.
Among girls, under -14 category, top-seeded Siddhi Khot had to work hard before securing a 6-4 win over Tejaswini Shrifule.
Top-seeded, Khot started off well, but Shrifule got her act together and scored few consecutive points to trouble Khot. Later in the match, Khot held her nerves to complete a victory.
Prisha Shinde also entered round three with a 6-2 win over Ahana Attawar. Second-seeded Samruddhi Bhosale also walk into the round with scoring an easy 6-2 win over Delisha Ramghatta.
The tournament is organised by Pune Metropolitan District Tennis Association (PMDTA) in association with KPIT.
