On account of dahi handi on September 3, the city traffic branch has rolled out a traffic plan wherein traffic will be diverted or closed as per requirement from 5.00 pm.
Residents travelling through these roads are requested to use following optional roads- Road from Shivajinagar towards Swargate will be diverted.
Optional road- a) PMPML buses and four-wheelers travelling from Shivaji road to Swargate should travel from SG Barve chowk to Jungli Maharaj road towards Swargate.
Two-wheelers and three-wheelers travelling from Shivaji road to Swargate – should travel from Jijamata chowk and Budhwar chowk .
All vehicles travelling from Laxmi road towards Alka Talkies chowk should travel from Sonya Maruti chowk – Fadke Haud chowk, left turn – Jijamat Chowk – Budhwar chowk – Appa Balwant chowk and Kelkar road.
Dahi handi banner dispute leads to murder
A twenty-five-year-old youth was killed over a petty dispute related to erection of a flexboard in Manikbaug locality on Sinhagad road on Friday night.
The deceased Akshay Gadshi (23), was a resident of National Park Society while the were assailants Nilesh Chaudhari, Sagar Darwadkar and three others against whom an offence related to murder has been lodged at the Sinhagad police station.
According to the police, a dispute erupted between the deceased and the accused over who will put the flexboard first in their bid to establish supremacy and influence in the area.
The accused were angry with Gadshi and attacked him with swords killing him on the spot. The accused fled the spot and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the other accused, police said.
Meanwhile, the dead body was handed over to relatives after the post-mortem.
