Pune man killed while resolving a violent fight in Chikhali

A man was killed while trying to stop a violent fight in Nigdi on Friday evening. The deceased was identified by the police as Dinesh Nivrutti Patil, a 25-year-old resident of Chikhali area. Two men were booked for the man’s murder.
The crime took place at the house of the deceased man’s friend identified as Atul Anil Gade, 25, a resident of Gurukrupa Society in More Vasti in Chikhali between 10.30 pm and 10.45 pm on Friday night, according to police.
Gade, who is also the complainant in the murder case, was allegedly talking on the phone when one of the two assailants, Samadhan More, looked at him and Gade asked him why he was staring at him.
The dialogue turned into a violent fight between Gade and one of the men booked in the case. The deceased man was trying to resolve the fist-fight between the two when the second assailant, Chetan More, brought a knife and attacked Gade before shoving the knife into Patil’s torso, stomach and waist, according to a statement given by Gade from his hospital bed.
Gade and Patil were attacked and injured with a sharp weapon and were rushed to Dhanashree hospital in Chinchwad. The hospital authorities informed the police as Patil breathed his last, while Gade is fighting for his life.
The police have identified and named Samadhan Ramdas More and Chetan Ramdas More in a case for murder of Patil and attempted murder of Gade, according to the Nigdi police.
A case under Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Nigdi police station. The case is being investigated by assistant police inspector (API) YS Adhav of the Nigdi police station. The police are on the lookout for the two.
