Pune man murdered by four brothers over money dispute

Four brothers were arrested on Monday for killing a man who had failed to return the money he had borrowed from two of them. Ajay Motiram Gaikwad alias Balya (28), Rajesh Motiram Gaikwad (38), Vijay Motiram Gaikwad, (34) and Kishore Motiram Gaikwad (36), all residents of Gandhi Nagar in Yerawada were arrested on Monday for killing Amir Rahim Khan alias Laalya (28), also a resident of the area.
"While two of the brothers are barbers, two work in the private sector. We arrested them at around 3 am on Monday. They were sent to police custody remand (PCR) till October 6," said assistant police inspector SV Bobade of Yerawada police station who is investigating the case. The deceased man is survived by his parents, wife, two sons and two brothers, according to the investigation officer.
The complaint was filed by the deceased man's brother, Sameer Khan (37), a resident of Jayprakashnagar in Yerawada, according to the police. A case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 302 for murder, 506(2) for criminal intimidation with a weapon, 323 for voluntarily causing hurt, 504 for intentional insult with an intention to breach peace and 34 for crime committed by multiple people with common intent was registered at Yerawada police station against the four.

Amir had managed to return Rs 50,000 of the amount and was paying the interest amount every month. However, the duo was after Amir to return the remaining amount along with the interest amount, according to the police. The deceased man and his brother, complainant in the case, tried to have a conversation with the Gaikwads on 2-3 occasions, according to the complaint.
On Sunday night, around 8:30 pm, the four men attacked Amir with an iron rod while also kicking and punching him, the police said. Amir's body was sent to Sassoon General Hospital for post-mortem.
