Pune’s startups do not lack for ideas, execution, proof of concept, or for that matter even access to the VC-brigade.

The one area, and this we get after running this space for two years and understanding the market from the perspective of at least 100 successful and aspiring entrepreneurs, that startups need a mark up is in the presentation of the product.

This has several layers and ideating, where Pune is tops, also seems to be where Pune gets stuck. How do I present it?

This is with no disrespect to the many, and we have featured them, success pitch stories; but, the fact is the burn rate of startups in Pune has as much to do with essentials like, creating the pitch plan and then delivering it.

Last week, we looked at the “art of the deal”.

Getting in the door is the first step. However, once you are in, do you unveil your product at the risk of not getting a deal, but “exposing your USP”?

Two weeks ago we spoke about how blockchain was renewing and re-growing a business vertical in the “farm to fork” space.

This week we get into the nitty-gritty of the presentation. The pitch deck - basically defined as the “stuff” that holds the explanation to why any investor should not tell you to stuff-off.
