Two men were arrested, while one is on the run, after a 20-year-old was killed in Kharadi over an old rivalry on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Pawan Kamble, resident of Kalubainagar in Thite Vasti area of Kharadi.

A case under Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Section 4(25) of Arms Act and Section 37(1)135 of Maharashra Police Act was registered at Chandannagar police station against the three. The deceased had a fight over an unidentified issue with the three over a year, the police said. The complaint in the matter was lodged by Pretam Kasbe, 23, also a resident of Kharadi.
Senior police inspector (PI) Rajendra Mulik of Chandanagar police station is investigating the case.
The three accused attacked his head, back and shoulder with a sword and sickle before assaulting him with cricket stumps and grievously injuring him. They attacked him between 10:30 pm and 10:45 pm on Friday near the vegetable market in Thite Vasti.
The body of the deceased youth was sent to Sassoon General Hospital for post mortem. The two arrested men were identified as Amar Ghadge and Sumit Jadhav. The police are on a lookout for a Kishore Shinde in the case.
