Bapat made this observation during his visit to the Hinjewadi IT park to oversee the development works which are underway. He was accompanied by district collector Saurabh Rao, PMRDA chief Kiran Gitte and officials of PMC and PCMC. Bapat also held a separate meeting with the officials of Hinjewadi Industries Association and the residents of Maan village.

Considering the hardships of residents of the area and the employees of IT companies, Bapat instructed officials to expedite the development works in the IT park. Bapat, himself, visited a few spots in Hinjewadi and Maan village and talked to local residents.

Bapat said that the lack of adequate land to provide facilities was a big problem in the area. “Land will be available once the town planning scheme is implemented. Under this scheme, every land owner is expected to surrender some of their land for the public facility. Hence, problems like roads and parking space would be easily solved,” he said.

Bapat also checked the current road work, connecting Balewadi and Hinjewadi, and the work on the bridge on Mula river as well. The proposed road is expected to reduce the traffic congestion as it would an alternate road to Hinjewadi.

Bapat also asked officials to remove unauthorised hawkers in the IT park, which occupy carriage width, and also waste management. PMRDA CEO, Kiran Gitte, informed Bapat about the metro link between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar, saying that work was expected to begin in March next year.

CS Bhogal, president of HIA, discussed the progress of various projects, which were discussed in the previous meeting with Bapat.

The guardian minister assured the follow up of all the issues at IT park Hinjawadi. Bapat promised that solutions to all the problems would be worked out considering the views of the stake holders. The next meeting will be held in November.
