Two booked in sexual harassment case by Pimpri-Chinchwad police

The woman has claimed that while travelling in a car with her brother, two unidentified men in another car made sexual gestures at her.

Two unidentified men have been booked by Pimpri-Chinchwad police for sexual harassment of a woman and physically assaulting her brother for raising his voice against the incident. The complaint in the matter was lodged by the 29-year-old woman. The incident took place at Somatane Phata, old Pune-Mumbai highway on April 23, 2019.

The woman has claimed that while travelling in a car with her brother, two unidentified men in another car made sexual gestures at her. Her brother stopped the car and asked them the reason behind such behaviour. The two accused got into a physical fight with him.

“The complainant does not know the two men. We are yet to track them down and ascertain their identity,” said police sub-inspector Vijay Sapkal of Talegaon Dabhade police station who is investigating the case.

A case under Sections 354(a) (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (insult with an intention of porvoking breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code was registered at Talegaon Dabhade police station against the motorist.
