13 held for gambling in Ludhiana; Rs 1.06 lakh seized

Thirteen persons have been arrested on charge of gambling and seized Rs 1.06 lakh from them during four raids conducted in Ludhiana on Wednesday, police said today.

Division no. 2 police arrested 12 persons from different places and seized nearly Rs 1.05 lakh from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Mukesh Kumar, Gurpreet Singh, Bhupinder Singh and Manmohan Singh of Baba Than Singh Chowk, Chanchal Singh, Sandeep Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Amardeep Singh of Sham Nagar and Ashu Khurana, Rinku, Sandeep Kumar and Himmat Rai of Dharampura from the area of division no.2 police station.

In another case, division no. 4 police arrested Rohit Kumar of Mohalla Atwal Nagar and seized Rs 1,250 from his possession. The accused was allegedly luring people to indulge in gambling.
