District health officer Dr Balwinder Singh Bajwa said on Saturday that he had written to all municipal councils to take precautionary measures against dengue in their respective areas.
He instructed the civic bodies and panchayats to make people aware of dengue. He said mosquitoes thrived in the water stored in coolers and lying stagnant in flowerpots. He advised the people to keep their arms and legs fully covered.
He said all dengue patients admitted to various hospitals were responding to the treatment and the disease was under control.
