2,336 drug addicts treated at Saket centre in 2 years

As many as 2,236 drug addicts got treatment at the Saket Red Cross de-addiction centre during last two years as outdoor and indoor patients. In 2013-2014, around 694 patients were treated as outpatients and 493 as indoor patients.

As many as 2,236 drug addicts got treatment at the Saket Red Cross de-addiction centre during last two years as outdoor and indoor patients. In 2013-2014, around 694 patients were treated as outpatients and 493 as indoor patients.

During last year, around 1,149 addicts got treatment at the centre and they included 575 as outpatients and 574 as indoor patients.

Deputy commissioner Varun Roojam said that the Punjab government has initiated a number of schemes for the rehabilitation of the youth coming out of drug addiction. They are also being extended facilities of counseling, yoga, group therapy, meditation, indoor and outdoor games and religious discourses so that they could lead a better and normal life.
