Two inmates lodged at Ludhiana Central Jail entered into a scuffle with the jail staff during a special checking operation on Friday.
The accused thrashed the jail staff, following which deputy jail superintendent Gurcharan Singh on Saturday lodged a complaint in which he stated that two accused Amandeep Singh and Manbir Singh who were lodged in the jail had thrashed jail guards when they tried to frisk them. In the incident, constable Bakhshish Singh suffered an injury on his eye.
A case has been registered against the accused under section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance) of the IPC at Division Number 7 police station.
