
2 killed 4 hurt as car rams into tree
Two persons died on the spot, four others were injured, when the car in which they were travelling,rammed into a tree near Sunam on the Chandigarh-Bathinda highway. According to the Sunam police, the incident took place near Taj Palace, near Sunam early on Thursday morning. Members of a Chandigarh-based family were returning after attending a marriage in Bathinda.
The police said Diwan Chand, resident of Sector 40 Chandigarh, who was sitting at the front seat and driver Aman Deep resident of Samana, died on the spot, when the car rammed into the tree.
Whereas Kamlesh Rani, Shikha Gupta, Puran Chand and Mohit Garg, who were sitting behind, received injuries and were referred to the Rajindera hospital, Patiala. All the injured are out of danger.
