9 killed, 4 injured in two separate accidents
At least 9 persons were killed and 4 others were injured in two separate road accidents in districts of Amritsar and Gurdaspur. In the first incident, which took took place around midnight five youths were killed when their overspeeding vehicle, after hitting a road divider, and then collided with a tree turned turtle.

In the first incident, which took took place around midnight five youths were killed when their overspeeding vehicle, after hitting a road divider, and then collided with a tree turned turtle. The accident took place on the newly-constructed flyover over Kitchlew Chowk in Amritsar City. The deceased have been identifed as Sandeep Kumar, Jackoi, Latti, and Gaurav. The fifth youth is yet to be identifed. All the deceased were locals.
In the second incident, which took place in the outskirts of Batala, four occupants of a car were killed while four others in another vehicle were injured in the wee hours on Monday after the two collided head-on. Further details of this accident are awaited.
