AAP Punjab legal cell secretary resigns, backs Chhotepur

Baath, an advocate in the Punjab and Haryana high court, has now thrown his weight behind sacked AAP state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who recently formed Aapna Punjab Party (APP). “Chhotepur’s ouster from the AAP provoked me to quit the party,” Baath said.

Legal cell secretary of the Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Bikramjit Singh Baath resigned from the party on Tuesday, alleging the party had drifted from its promise of democratisation of the political system.

Baath, an advocate in the Punjab and Haryana high court, has now thrown his weight behind sacked AAP state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who recently formed Aapna Punjab Party (APP). “Chhotepur’s ouster from the AAP provoked me to quit the party,” Baath said.

In his resignation letter to party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Baath said “there has been a dangerous drift in the party’s line of action, which is hurting Punjab and its people”.
