Army Public Schools' meet held

Golden Arrow Division of the Indian Army hosted the Western Command Principals' Meet of Army Public Schools here on Thursday and Friday.

Officiating General Officer Commanding Vajra corps welcomed the gathering of principals and educationists. He emphasised the importance of providing quality and technology based education to wards of army personnel and civilians studying in Army Public Schools throughout India.

Western Command Chief of Staff lit the lamp to start the programme. The inaugural address was delivered by the Chief of Staff of Vajra corps, who informed the gathering about the ongoing activities of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). The aim of the seminar was to provide the principals a forum to share their experiences with their counterparts.

The seminar included thought provoking presentations and brainstorming sessions on several aspects of education. The speakers included entrepreneurs, who had distinguished themselves in the field of education. The topics ranged from 'The Improvement of Communication Skills of Teachers and Students' to 'Teachers' Empowerment' and 'World Class Schools - A Way Forward'.

A rolling trophy was awarded to Army Public School of Noida for its excellent performance in the academic session 2011-12.

General Officer Commanding, Golden Arrow Division, delivered the closing address in which he
expressed optimism that Army Public Schools would maintain their reputation for excellence in all spheres.

The seminar ended with an open forum in which all the delegates were invited to share their perspectives on various issues.
