Around 26,000 acres to get canal water in Sangrur

With aim to provide canal water to farmers, Sangrur deputy commissioner Kumar Rahul has said the work of cleaning canal and distributaries have been completed to provide adequate water to farmers for the paddy season.

With aim to provide canal water to farmers, Sangrur deputy commissioner Kumar Rahul has said the work of cleaning canal and distributaries have been completed to provide adequate water to farmers for the paddy season.

He said around 26, 208 acre of area under paddy would be provided with canal water this season and all arrangements have been made to ensure proper supply of water. Rahul said R13 lakh were being provided by the state government to clean all water channels under the jurisdiction of the district irrigation department.

He said more than 400 MGNREGA labourers were deployed for the purpose in order to complete the work at the earliest.
