ATM robbed in Amritsar, case registered

In yet another instance of attempt to rob an ATM in the city, the Amritsar City Police have booked an unidentified person under sections 511/830/427 IPC in a case registered at B-Division Police Station on the complaint of Amarjit Singh, Senior Executive, FIS PSSWDIA PVT LTD, Mohali.

In the complaint lodged with the police, Amarjit Singh alleged that the accused had dismantled the ATM, situated near Bhoot Nath Mandir in Ghee Mandi area, in the room where the ATM was placed with a view to robbing it.

"A case has been registered in this regard under sections 511/830/427 IPC at B Division Police Station. Efforts are being made to identify and arrest the accused," said ASI Balwinder Singh, of B Division Police Station, who is investigating the matter.
