Auto expo to be held in city from February 14-17

Auto expo 'Machautoexpo-2014' is scheduled to be held in the city from February 14-17. As many as 250 participants are expected to participate in the expo from across the country.

Auto expo 'Machautoexpo-2014' is scheduled to be held in the city from February 14-17. As many as 250 participants are expected to participate in the expo from across the country.


In this auto show, manufacturers of auto parts, machine tools, engineering machinery, tractor parts, handling equipment and allied industries will showcase their products.

It will be a great opportunity for them to showcase their innovative products during the event. The event is expected to bring competitiveness in the trade due to which industry in the state will be benefitted.

Auto Parts Manufacturers' Association president GS Kahlon said, “Auto parts industry has made a significant improvement in technology development in the past few years. Showcasing of auto parts by various manufacturers from all over the country in this Machautoexpo will give a boost to this industry.”

“African ambassadors will also visit the exhibition, which is a new milestone in the history of Ludhiana industry,” Kahlon said.

Association general secretary Ranjodh Singh said, “Time has come to compete in the global market by adopting automation technology. With this technology we bring precision to our product as well as increase the productivity. We have to overcome ever increasing shortage of skilled manpower.”

Apex Chamber of Commerce president PD Sharma said that industry of Punjab needed a platform to showcase their products and improve technologically to match global market.

“Machautoexpo is a right step in this direction. There is no dearth of entrepreneurship in Punjab, but it needs to be exhibited,” Sharma said.

Apex Chamber of Commerce and other city-based associations are jointly organising Machautoexpo.

MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises)- Development Institute director SS Dhillon, said such events, like Machautoexpo were very necessary for the growth of the industry of Punjab.

“In the past industrialists from Punjab were reluctant to showcase their product. That is the reason that our industry is lacking as compared to other states,” said Dhillon.
