Ban on carrying firearms on poll day in Punjab
District magistrate Arshdeep Singh Thind on Wednesday issued prohibited carrying of firearms throughout this district of Punjab on the day of Block Samitis and Zila Parishad Election scheduled for May 19.

District magistrate Arshdeep Singh Thind on Wednesday issued prohibited carrying of firearms throughout this district of Punjab on the day of Block Samitis and Zila Parishad Election scheduled for May 19.
The District Magistrate made it clear that the administration was determined to hold fair, free and peaceful elections and that was the reason, as desired by Election Commission, all the license holders were asked to deposit their arms.
