Police have arrested Gurcharan Singh and Harjinder Singh, the brothers of the deceased, who had allegedly murdered him over differences due to division of property and a tractor.

The police got a clue about the accused from the personal diary of the deceased in which he had mentioned about his enmity with his brothers.

A case was registered under Section 302 (murder) and 34 of the IPC against unidentified persons on the complaint of Virpal Kaur, wife of Gurtej Singh (40), a resident of Buraj Masta village, who was found dead in the tube well tank in his fields with injury marks on September 22.

DSP Faridkot Vishaljit Singh said the two brothers have been arrested and have been remanded to police custody by the court.
