Employees came out of their head office at Bharat Nagar Chowk in large numbers for the demonstration held on the directions of Sanchar Nigam Executive Association (SNEA).

SNEA district secretary Harjinder Singh said, “The existing non-standard pay scales should be replaced by standard pay scales.”

He said the time-bound functional promotion should be done between four to six years, while the first time-bound promotion should take place after four years of joining.

SNEA district president Kanwaljit Singh said, “30% superannuation benefit should be given to BSNL recruited employees. Settlement of long pending pay anomalies should also be done away with at the earliest.”

The association members said if the demands were not met with, they would hold a protest demonstration on March 6, and a hunger strike from March 19-21 would also take place in which hundreds of BSNL employees would participate.
