Capt demands withdrawal of excise duty on jewellers

: Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Saturday demanded withdrawal of the 1% excise duty on jewellers.

In a statement, Amarinder said the Congress fully endorsed and supported the jewellers’ demand and that the Centre’s decision to impose excise duty was uncalled for.

The jewellers across the country are agitating against the levy of excise duty.
