CCTV cameras installed at Barnala bus stand

Close-circuit cameras have been installed at the bus stand here to check petty crimes. The Barnala Improvement Trust has spent Rs 6.25 lakh on installing 42 cameras. Staff deployed at the police post situated inside the bus stand will keep round-the-clock tab on the cameras, said Dr Indu Malhotra, chairperson of the trust.

The Barnala Improvement Trust has spent Rs 6.25 lakh on installing 42 cameras. Staff deployed at the police post situated inside the bus stand will keep round-the-clock tab on the cameras, said Dr Indu Malhotra, chairperson of the trust.

The trust has also appointed security guards to restrict entry of private vehicles inside the bus stand.

Last month, four buses of a private transporter were set on fire inside the bus stand. The transporter

had alleged that there was no security arrangement at the bus stand.
