Chandigarh-Delhi air traffic disrupted: 1 flight grounded; nine late

Fog at Delhi airport disrupted the air traffic between Chandigarh and Delhi route on Friday. While Air Vistara flight at 3.20 pm was grounded due to 4pm closure deadline at the local airport, nine other flights ran behind schedule since morning.
All four flights of Jet Airway on Chandigarh-Delhi route departed late for several hours. For instance, Jet’s 9am and 11am flight took off at10.35am and 12.30pm. The afternoon flight at 2.20pm was took off an hour late. Spicejet’s Delhi to Srinagar flight via Chandigarh also saw a delay of over two hours. The return journey from Srinagar also got affected due to delayed operations. Indigo’s 8am Delhi flight left the airport at 10am.
The flight operation between Chandigarh and Delhi is also being affected due to runway restriction for two hours in morning due to Republic Day rehearsals at Delhi Airport. For instance, three flights on this route have been suspended till January 26 (except for January 25) between 10am and 1pm.
It includes Air India’s flight at 12:50pm, besides Jet Airways and Air Vistara’s flights at 10am and 12:15pm flights. Two flights have also been rescheduled during this period.
