On a tip-off, an NCB team had set up a naka at Cholang Toll Plaza to nab the accused. The Swift Dzire car on which they were travelling has been impounded. NCB officers said the contraband was kept in a red cloth bag in the car.

“Deva and Balbir have been into the business of smuggling drugs for three years,” said Kaustubh Sharma, zonal director, NCB, Chandigarh.

He said the accused bought the contraband from Chamba in Himachal Pradesh for consumption and supply to people who dressed up as holy men, Sadhus (Babas) and others in Jalandhar.
